This side of Joseph Conners started in March of 2014. After a hugely successfully run with former best friend
Paul Malen as part of UK tag team "The Predators" winning countless Championships around the country. Perhaps most note worthy a 456 day reign as the first ever Southside Tag Team Champions. Things had never looked better for the two. However after failing to capture the Southside Tag Team Titles back from the team of Starbux, Conners would viscously beat down the man he once called his brother, with a leather belt, seemingly turning his back on Paul forever.
This would spark a rivarly that you could argue will never truly end. This is where Joseph Conners adopted his "Righteous" persona, he claims that Paul Malen betrayed him long before he turned his back on Paul. Conners has never fully revealed what he feels Paul did to him, but whatever the catalyst is or was, in Conners mind he's never truly been the same.
This new side of Conners would bring out a much more dark, disturbed and cold side that most people hadn't really seen from Conners before. He would go back to the singles ranks, seemingly more determined and more ruthless then prior to this change of attitude. Whilst Malen and Conners would fight on Southside cards around the country, Conners would also pick up huge victorys against legends such as Marty Jannetty & Scotty 2 Hotty.
The Conners V Malen feud would continue late into 2014 where arguably it got it's most sadistic as the two would battle in a First Blood contest. Conners would pick up the victory, but it could be said no man truly won that night, as the beating both men took, has changed each man even more so. Malen would send Conners flying off a balcony in the Rushcliffe Arena to the Southside roster members below in one of the most crazy acts of 2014.
Alongside Conners problems with Paul Malen, Conners would seek out Jimmy Havoc. After Jimmy had been in a barbaric 'Barbed Wire' match on the same weekend of Conners first blood match, Conners would ask Jimmy that night if all the scars, and torture to his body was worth the little reward given to him by the Southside Promotion. These words would resonate with Jimmy Havoc in time...
Also Conners spread out his actions not just in Southside, but his Righteous persona would begin to be seen in promotions such as New Generation Wrestling, TIDAL Championship Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Kingdom, Kamikaze Pro among others.
Meanwhile in Southside, Conners kept referencing a "Righteous Army" that he is building, it would not be long until Jimmy Havoc made his decision and became the first official member of the group. Conners claims he is protecting the men and women of his group and looking out for their best interests. We have seen fans and wrestling trainees in arenas try and represent the Righteous Army but have not been inducted as members.
Conners would seemingly seek out "The Mexican Sensation" El Ligero to be the next member of the group, like he had done with Havoc. Conners asked El Ligero to join the warm embrace of The Righteous Army, instead of constantly failing at being everybodys super hero. During a match with Havoc & Conners Vs Kay Lee Ray & El Ligero, Ligero would turn Conners down and stand against the RA, however Kay Lee Ray would instead show her colours and earn
her stripes by joining The Righteous Army.
In the short time that "The Righteous Army" has began to grow, Conners has captured the Southside Heavyweght Championship & KLR won the Queen Of Southside Championship being the first ever woman to capture this belt. The Righteous also have a new pledge known to some as 'H.C Dyer' who has been challenged to earn his spot in the team.
This man is only 18 years old and is a natural athlete, that Conners wants to prevent Southside from getting their hands on, and alongside KLR & Jimmy Havoc says he will be nurtured the right way.
Things are only just getting started, all that can be said is keep your eyes on The Righteous Army as this story is far from over.
